Polson Seniors: On the cusp of March
March has been described as coming in like a lion and out like a lamb. Although March 19 is the first day of Spring (9:06 p.m. MST), it is okay to say March 20 is the first daylight of Spring. “March Madness” begins, a term describing the various basketball tournaments on TV. All those political ads are already driving me mad.
Applications are now being accepted for the position of director for nutrition, full or part time. Office and site management, food service experience preferred. Will train.
The Senior Center is providing AARP Tax Assistance through April 15 on Mondays or Thursdays. Call for an appointment time between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Pick up your packet/forms; complete prior to your time slot.

Senior bowling continues at 1 p.m. Tuesdays ($13 lane fee).
Other activities at the Polson center, open to all, include: self-guided, video-assisted exercise, 10:30-11:30 a.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, sitting or standing; bingo, 6:30 p.m. Fridays ($100 blackout), with playing card bingo on the first and third Wednesdays; pinochle, noon-3 p.m. Thursdays.
The pool table is open 8 a.m.-3 p.m. weekdays. Inquire at the center about bridge.
Space is available for card or board games and other small groups. Call for time slots.
A veteran’s representative will visit the center Friday, March 1, and Tuesday, March 19, from 10 a.m.-noon.
Meals are available for sit-down, take-out or delivery from 11:45 a.m.-12:30 p.m. weekdays; a suggested donation of $5 helps support the nutrition program. The menu is posted each week at the center, although it’s subject to change. Call before 10 a.m. for Grab-n-Go.
Upcoming main dishes include: chow mein, Feb. 29; pizza, March 1; vegetable soup, March 4; goulash, March 5; baked chicken, March 6; chicken enchiladas, March 7; and sausage links, gravy and biscuits, March 8.
