Polson Seniors: Resolution to not make resolutions
It was good to see lots of smiles being shared in this joyous time of year. I’ll try to keep that Christmas spirit alive throughout the year.
I have made another resolution to not make resolutions. That is the one I can keep.
Off we go into the New Year! The days are getting longer but I can't tell for sure, as the sun seldom shines here in the valley with the lake and rivers steaming fog into the air. I do love the weather where we live. It is never boring and changes every ten minutes or so.
Senior bowling is available at 1 p.m. Tuesdays ($13 lane fee); open group with no weekly commitment.
Activities at the Polson center, open to all, include: self-guided, video-assisted exercise, 10:30-11:30 a.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays (Friday is Richard Simmons turn); pinochle, noon-3 p.m. Thursdays (late arrivals welcome); bingo, 6:30 p.m. Fridays ($100 blackout), with playing card bingo on the first and third Wednesdays. The pool table is open 8 a.m.-3 p.m. weekdays. Inquire at the center about bridge.
A veteran’s representative will visit the center Friday, Jan. 5, and Tuesday, Jan. 16, from 10 a.m.-noon.
Meals are available for sit-down, take-out or delivery from 11:45 a.m.-12:30 p.m. weekdays; a suggested donation of $5 helps support the nutrition program. The menu is posted each week at the center, although it’s subject to change. Call before 10 a.m. for Grab-n-Go.
Upcoming main dishes include: Salisbury steak, Jan. 4; French dip au jus, Jan. 5; beef barley soup, Jan. 8; turkey wrap, Jan. 9; beef stew, Jan. 10; meatballs in sauce, Jan. 11; and biscuits and gravy with sausage links, Jan. 12.
The center is open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays at 504 3rd Ave. E. For more information, call 406-883-4735, email polsonseniorcenter@gmail.com or visit us on Facebook.
