In the Northwest A Conference, the newcomer Bigfork looks like the power to beat. After years in Class B where they were a dominant force, the Valkries are averaging over 50 points per game while giving up 28.

At 3-3, the Lady Pirates have averaged 46 points in their victories, but just 17 points in their losses.

Still, outside of Bigfork, everybody else in the Northwest A Conference has three or fewer wins. Ronan is 1-3, but one of those losses was an overtime setback, and their lone win came against Corvallis on Dec. 14.

Class B

In Class B, Mission has started the year hot with a 4-2 start, while a 5-1 Plains squad currently leads the Western 7B.

The Lady Bulldogs opened up the season with a win over Class A Ronan, dropped two to Eastside teams in the Shelby Coyote Classic, then rattled off victories over Arlee, Deer Lodge, and Florence Carlton.

Mission is the top-scoring team in the Western 7B, averaging 50 points per game, while its defense is giving up 37 points per game.

Class C

The Charlo Vikings have won three straight and posted a 3-2 record before the holiday break. They scored over 50 points in all three of those victories.

After starting the year with losses to Florence Carlton and Anaconda – both Class B schools –Charlo has been on fire, winning two Western 14C games. They’ll continue a tough schedule, playing against several Class B schools sprinkled around their core league matchups.
