Lady Vikings drop matchup with T-Falls, best Scarlets

Thompson Falls improved to 4-4 on the season, downing Charlo 56-44 on Saturday, Jan. 6. Thompson Falls led by five after one quarter and went on a 20-8 run in the second quarter.

The Lady Vikings did battle back with a 14-6 run in the third quarter to pull within 44-35 but couldn’t close the gap in the third quarter.

Charlo fell to 4-3 on the year.

Lady Vikes defeat Scarlets

Charlo picked up Lake County bragging rights, downing Arlee 54-31 in non-league basketball action on Friday, Jan. 5.

Brielle Zempel led the Lady Vikings with 22 points as Charlo held the Scarlets to just 10 first-half points. The Lady Vikings had a 21-4 lead after one quarter and extended that advantage by another six points by halftime.

Leah Mesteth’s 14 points led Arlee while Adalyn Jacobson added seven points.

Charlo got 11 points from Seeley McDonald and eight points from Darcy Coleman.

Two Eagle wins at Victor

The Two Eagle girls notched their third win of the season, downing non-league foe Victor 47-26 on Friday, Jan. 5. Dayani Piapot led the Lady Eagles with 16 points while Keke Tenas added 11 points.

Two Eagle led 21-10 at halftime and went on a 12-6 run in the third quarter.

Jodessa McGreevey added seven points to Two Eagle’s efforts, and her team improved to 3-5 on the year.
