Ronan Girls top Western Montana Duals

In the Girls Western Montana Duals, the Ronan Maidens proved to be tops, and Polson was nearly as a good as both faced off in the first-place bout with the hosts winning by six points.

In the quarterfinals, Ronan defeated Bonners Ferry 34-30 behind two pins by River Cote (100) and Brynn Courville (138). Katie Dolence (132) also picked up a major decision.

Advancing to the semifinals, Ronan faced off against Northwest A foe Columbia Falls and took them down 48-18. River Cote (100), Amanda Webster (114), Giselle Barron-Valenzuela (120), Katie Dolence (126), Asliyah Stewart (132), Brynn Courville (138) and Leona Dodson Howe (152) all notched pins against the Wildkats.

Polson won their quarterfinal matchup against Deer Lodge 36-23 as the Lady Pirates got pins from Sara Cross (114), Maddilyn Huffine (126) and Skyla Nielsen (132). This advanced them to the semifinals where Polson faced Browning and defeated them 36-27. Sara Cross (114), Ariella Mihara (120), Skyla Nielsen (132) and Vanessa Wheeler (152) posted falls for the Lady Pirates.

In the final matchup between Polson and Ronan, the teams went back and forth before the Maidens won 36-30. Ronan’s River Cote (100), Amanda Webster (114), Katie Dolence (126) and Leona Dodson Howe (152) notched pins, while Polson’s Ariella Mihara (120), Skyla Nielsen (132) and Innocent Arnold (145) pinned their foes.

Mission-Charlo's Aubrey Sharbono won the 145-pound bracket in the Western Montana Girls Invite.  Sharbono notched three pins as she carved through the bracket with wins over opponents from Ronan, Frenchtown and Browning. Teammate Meadow Ragen was fifth at 165 pounds, after notching two pins and a decision in the fifth-place match.
