Registration open for Grazing and Agriculture Conference
The 2024 Western Montana Grazing and Agriculture Conference convenes Jan. 25-26 at the Missoula County Fairgrounds in Missoula.
Speakers and topics include:
• Regenerative grazing principles with Justin Morris
• Estate planning basics
• Local foods cooking demonstrations
• Agritourism discussions
• Market garden vegetable varieties, trials and research
• Land restoration and ecologically-based invasive plant management
• Being bear aware in western Montana
• 2024 Agricultural Economic Outlook
Registration is $75 for the two-day conference, which includes light breakfast both days and two lunches that showcase local foods. Thursday’s agenda also includes an evening social and Local Food Products Fair.
Scholarships are available for youth in agriculture, beginning farmers and ranchers and high school students enrolled in environmental programs.
The annual event is co-sponsored by MSU Extension, Lake County and Missoula Conservation Districts and the Community Food and Agriculture Coalition.
