Last week’s blizzard reminded us of what Montana weather can be: dangerous for us and devastating for livestock. People who want to live here should visit in January or February, then decide.

If you attend our center regularly, we ask you to support by becoming a member. Only $15 per year – less than $0.05 a day. What d’ya say? Join today!

Tai Chi classes meet 10-11 a.m. Tuesdays, Jan. 23- Feb. 27. This slow and relaxing movement exercise helps with balance and flexibility. The six-week session is $30 for non-members with a $15 discount for members of Polson Senior Center.

Senior bowling is available at 1 p.m. Tuesdays ($13 lane fee).

Other activities at the Polson center, open to all, include: self-guided, video-assisted exercise, 10:30-11:30 a.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays; bingo, 6:30 p.m. Fridays ($100 blackout), with playing card bingo on the first and third Wednesdays. The pool table is open 8 a.m.-3 p.m. weekdays. Inquire at the center about bridge.

Pinochle is from noon-3 p.m. Thursdays. A new drop-in player from Ronan taught us a six-person game, proving we are never afraid of learning new things! Anybody for double deck? Sign up with a suggested day and time.

A veteran’s representative will visit the center Friday, Feb. 2, and Tuesday, Feb. 20, from 10 a.m.-noon.

Meals are available for sit-down, take-out or delivery from 11:45 a.m.-12:30 p.m. weekdays; a suggested donation of $5 helps support the nutrition program. The menu is posted each week at the center, although it’s subject to change. Call before 10 a.m. for Grab-n-Go.

Upcoming main dishes include: pork tips with gravy, Jan. 18; chicken strips, Jan. 19; chili and cornbread, Jan. 22; shepherd’s pie, Jan. 23; chicken salad, Jan. 24; Polish dogs, Jan. 25; and birthday dinner for lunch, honoring those born in January and featuring a traditional roast beef dinner, and birthday cake too, Jan. 26.

The center is open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays at 504 3rd Ave. E. For more information, call 406-883-4735, email polsonseniorcenter@gmail.com or visit us on Facebook.
