Class B Boys: Warriors blast past Darby

Twelve different Arlee players scored as the Warriors drubbed Darby 70-25 in non-league basketball action. Three of those players scored in double digits, led by Jake Knoll’s 11 points.

Arlee led 22-4 after the first quarter and 39-18 at halftime. The Warriors came out in the third quarter and busted out a 15-5 run. Darby could only muster two points in the fourth.

Kendall O’Neill scored 10 points for Arlee, as did Kaiden Otby. Arlee improved to 9-1 on the season with the victory.

Warriors trounce Anaconda

Arlee bounced back from its first loss of the season by downing Anaconda 59-44 in Western 6B basketball action on the road on Friday, Jan. 19.

Ben Harlow-Old Person dropped 26 points for the Warriors, who led 16-6 after one quarter and 32-17 at halftime.

Jake Knoll added 12 points, and Kaiden Ostby had 10 points.

Bulldogs pick up first win

Mission picked up its first victory of the season, a 42-39 victory over Superior in non-league play on Friday, Jan. 19. The Bulldogs outscored the Bobcats 14-8 in the final quarter for the victory. 

Superior had led the game 19-18 at halftime and extended their lead to 31-28 after three quarters.

Mission handed Superior their second-straight loss and dropped their conference record to 1-3. The Bulldogs improved to 1-2 in league play.

Mission falls to Plains

After a lengthy break in games, Mission got back into the swing of things again but fell to Plains 57-49 in Western 7B basketball action on Thursday, Jan. 18. Lex LaFrombois again had a big game for the Bulldogs, notching 21 points.

Mission led 21-20 at halftime, but after an even third quarter, Plains outscored Mission 21-12 in the final stanza.

Three different Bulldogs scored in double digits, with Landon Walks Over Ice notching 13 points and Jose O’Brien adding 11.
