Celebrate Independence Day! Be safe.

We are continuing our search for a full or part-time cook and/or nutrition director. Apply in person. Wages based on experience and range of knowledge in food service.

Our non-profit organization relies on members willing to serve in leadership positions. No experience required. We only require your dedication in serving the seniors and the needy in our community.

Volunteer to serve on the board of directors. Elections are at our annual meeting at 10:30 a.m. on the fourth Friday of August.

Our fiscal year is coming to an end next month. We hope to set a record for membership this year, and are now nearing the greatest number we’ve had in at least the prior 10 years. Thanks go out to all you fine folks for your support.

The dues are only $15 per year – the same as it was 30 years ago.

Activities at the Polson center, open to all, include: wood carving for beginners, 1 p.m. Wednesday and Friday, join any week; self-guided, video-assisted exercise, 10:30-11:30 a.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, sitting or standing; bingo, 6:30 p.m. Fridays ($100 blackout), with playing card bingo on the first and third Wednesdays; pinochle, 12:30-3 p.m. Thursdays; Wednesday is game day – bring a game and a group of friends from 1-3 p.m.

The pool table is open 8 a.m.-3 p.m. weekdays. Inquire at the center about bridge.

A veteran’s representative visits the center on the first Friday and third Tuesday of each month.

Meals are available for sit-down, take-out or delivery from 11:45 a.m.-12:30 p.m. weekdays; a suggested donation of $5 helps support the nutrition program. The menu is posted each week at the center, although it’s subject to change. Call before 10 a.m. for grab-n-go.

Upcoming main dishes include: BBQ ribs, July 3; burgers and hot dogs, July 5; corn chowder and focaccia, July 8; hamburger gravy and whipped potatoes, July 9; chicken strips, July 10; pork tips on pasta, July 11; and hot turkey hero sandwiches, July 12.

The center is open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays at 504 Third Ave. E. For more information, call 406-883-4735, email polsonseniorcenter@gmail.com or visit us on Facebook.
