Mission Valley Mariners claim three wins at John Harp tourney
Mission Valley Mariners posted three wins during the John Harp Tournament, July 12-14 in Kalispell, bringing their season record to 21-15.
Mission Valley opens up John Harp with victory
The Mariners opened up the John Harp Tournament with an 8-2 victory over Badrock 15U on Friday, July 12. Landon Shoemake homered and drove in three runs, while Dawson DuMont pitched the first three innings, striking out eight.
The Mariners led 4-1 after three innings and then rallied for three more runs in the fourth to take a commanding lead. Cymian Kauley allowed three hits in the next three innings, and Maddox Bird closed the door in the final inning.
Shoemake finished 2-for-4, also hitting a double, while Aiden Gfroerer and Holdem Emerson drove in runs. Cole Wadsworth also had a double.

Prairie defeats Mission Valley
The Mariners suffered their first loss of the Kalispell John Harp Tournament on Saturday, July 12, as Prairie defeated them 11-3. Prairie scored eight runs in the sixth inning to secure the victory.
The game was tied 3-3 until that big inning. Dawson DuMont and Wyatt Wadsworth each drove in runs, while DuMont was 2-for-3 in the game. Cole Wadsworth, Wyatt Wadsworth and Holden Emerson had hits in the game.
Mission Valley committed seven errors in the matchup.

Mariner sluggers shine in win over Cherokee Trail
Mission Valley bounced back at the Kalispell tournament on July 12, defeating Cherokee Trail 13-1. The Mariners had nine hits, including a triple and double by leadoff hitter Cole Wadsworth.
Mission Valley led Cherokee Trail 4-1 in the first three innings as George Wyman struck out five in three and one-third innings pitched. Cole Wadsworth finished off the game and struck out two.
Landon Shoemake drove in three runs, while Wyatt Wadsworth and Zak Muzquiz each had doubles. Aiden Gfroerer went 2-for-2 in the game as well.

Mission Valley finishes with win over Badrock
Mission Valley finished the weekend at the Kalispell John Harp Tournament with a 9-1 victory over Badrock on Sunday, July 14. The Mariners had 12 hits, while their pitching held Badrock to just two hits.
Cole Wadsworth pitched the first three innings, striking out three; Wyatt Wadsworth struck out five in two innings, while Cash Atkison picked up the save in the sixth.
Brayson DuMont had a double, while Cole Wadsworth, Landon Shoemake, and Holden Amerson each had two hits. Cody Haggard was 3-for-3 in the game and drove in two runs as well.
Mission Valley is now 21-15 on the season.

Mission Valley Mariners fall to AA Mavericks
Playing against the higher-classification Missoula AA Mavericks, Mission Valley fell 7-2 in American Legion baseball action on Wednesday, July 10, in Polson. Dawson DuMont hit a home run in the matchup, but the Mariners gave up 13 hits in the loss.
The game was tied 1-1 after three innings, but the Mavericks notched two runs in the fourth and another in the fifth. Mission Valley scored a run in the sixth, but Missoula scored three more runs to secure the game.
Cody Haggard went 2-for-4, while Cole Wadsworth and Aiden Gfroerer also had hits in the loss.
