Ronan City Council okays party permits

At the July 10, Ronan City Council meeting, members discussed the Mission Range Event Center, the ag restriction on the land, and its long-term lease to Pioneer Days Committee.

The deed to the property has been recorded, finalizing its transfer from Lake County to the city. Ronan City Attorney Ben Anciaux is working on a lease agreement with Pioneer Days, which will be reviewed at the council’s next meeting on July 25, as will the motion to remove the ag restriction from the piece of property located west of town.

The Chamber members approved the following applications for open container permits:

• Ronan Chamber of Commerce for the annual Crab Crack, 5-8 p.m. July 26 at the Ronan Fairgrounds

• Travis White for a Ranch Rodeo, 4 p.m. to midnight July 27 at the Ronan Fairgrounds.

• St. Luke Community Healthcare for an end-of-summer picnic, 4-8 p.m. Aug. 22 on Fourth Ave., from Main Street to the alley by the brewery. They also requested a street closure for the same day and location.

The council also approved a request from Ronan High School for a street closure on Sept. 20 from 4:15 to 5:30 p.m. for the RHS Homecoming Parade.

In other business, the council unanimously approved the water project contractor’s application for payment of $146,529. Mayor Adler was authorized to sign for the city of Ronan.

Also regarding the water project, council approved an ARPA Grant draw for $179,916 and authorized mayor Adler and Clerk Kaylene Melton to sign and submit it on behalf of the city of Ronan.

The council’s next meeting is July 24 at 6 p.m.
