Mission Valley B Team takes down Cranbrook
The Mission Valley Mariners B Team had 13 hits as it won its season opener against the Cranbrook Bandits 20-10 on Saturday, May 25, in Polson. Liam Wills drove in four runs in the contest, which saw the Mariners score 12 runs in the bottom of the sixth.
The Mission Valley pitching staff of Maddox Bird, Ryan Lake and Liam Wills held Cranbrook to four hits. The Bandits also had 12 errors in the contest.
Brayson DuMont was 4-for-5 with two triples and three RBI. Luke Horner also drove in three runs, while Paxson Dumont drove in two runs.
In the second game of the doubleheader, Cranbrook cleaned up its defense and defeated the Mariners 16-3. Maddox Bird drove in a run and had a double in the contest. Cranbrook scored six runs in the top of the second and fifth in the matchup.

Mariners B team splits with Kalispell B team
Mission Valley Mariners B Team lost a close one in the first game of their doubleheader against the Kalispell Lakers B team 16-15 on Sunday, June 2, in Kalispell, but bounced back to win 18-8 in the nightcap.
In the first game, Mission Valley had 20 hits, while Kalispell had 17 hits. The Lakers led 10-8 after three innings, but the Mariners took a 12-10 lead in the top of the fifth before the Lakers took it back with a four-run rally.
The Lakers finished with 17 hits in the game, and both teams had six errors. Cole Wadsworth was 3-for-4 with two RBI, while Brayson DuMont was 3-5 with two RBI. Landon Pablo, Holden Emerson, and Cody Haggard each had two hits, while Zak Muzquiz and Liam Wills had three hits.
Haggard and Muzquiz had doubles in the matchup.
The Mariners bounced back with an 18-8 victory over the Lakers in the backend of the doubleheader. Mission Valley had 20 hits and led 12-7 after three innings before scoring three runs in the fourth and seventh.
Wills pitched the final four innings of the game and struck out seven Laker batters while giving up zero earned runs.
Brayson DuMont had two doubles and finished the game 4-for-5 with two RBI. Liam Wills was 4-for-5 with four RBI and a double. Holden Emerson was 3-for-4 with four RBI. Zak Muzquiz and Shaedon Perry also had multi-hit games.
Mission Valley B Team is 2-2 on the season.
