Lady Pirates fall to Kalispell Emeralds

Polson fell to the Kalispell Emeralds-Vivian on Sunday, June 9, in bracket play at the 2024 Emeralds SMASH at the KidsSports Complex in Kalispell.

The Lady Pirates led 6-3 after three innings, but the Emeralds scored five runs in the fifth and five runs in the seventh for the victory. Polson loaded the bases with one out in the sixth but couldn’t bring them home to equalize the game.

Both Mckenna Hanson and Avery Starr had home runs in the matchup, which saw Polson collect 10 hits. Hanson finished the game 3-for-4, while Carli Maley, Starr, and Kailey Smith had two hits.

Hanson finished the game with three RBI as did Starr.

Polson freezes out Canada

In pool play at the Emeralds SMASH Tournament in Kalispell, Polson downed Canada’s U17A1 Revolution on Saturday, June 8, tallying nine hits.

The Revolution led 1-0 in the top of the fourth, but the Lady Pirates scored two runs in the fourth and four runs in the sixth. Mckenna Hanson went 3-for-3 in the game, including a double. Carli Maley also had a double and an RBI.

Opal Nash drove in a run, while Kailey Smith had a double.

Avery Smith pitched all five innings for the Lady Pirates, scattering three hits and striking out four while issuing zero walks.

Nash homers as Polson defeats North Utah

Opal Nash hit a home run as Polson defeated North Utah’s CV Blue Sox Elite 4-1 in pool play at the Emeralds SMASH Tournament in Kalispell on Saturday, June 8.

The Lady Pirates had four hits, including Nash’s homer. Carli Maley had a double, while Liz Cunningham also drove in a run.

North Utah led 1-0 after two innings before Polson notched two runs in the third and two more in the fourth. North Utah committed six errors in the game.

Gigi Hawk also drove in a run, while Avery Starr pitched six innings, striking out four and allowing just two hits.

Lady Pirates fall to Kalispell

Polson was held to three hits, and fell to Emeralds-Allen 3-0 in the opening pool play game of the Emeralds SMASH Tournament on Friday, June 7.

Kalispell scored a run in the second and two more runs in the fourth.

Liz Cunningham doubled in the matchup, while Emma Smith and Carli Maley also had a hit.
