Lady Pirates win two, lose two at G-Funk Throwdown

Lady Pirates fall to Missoula

The Lady Pirates were defeated by the Missoula Avalanche 10-0 in their final game at the G-Funk Throwdown in Great Falls on Sunday, June 16. Polson was held to one hit in the loss while committing six errors.

Opal Nash had Polson’s lone hit. The Avalanche had Mission’s Izzy Evans in the circle pitching.

Polson is 4-4 on the season.

Polson defeats SkyRiders

Polson wrapped up Saturday’s games with a 14-5 victory over the Cut Bank SkyRiders on Saturday, June 15. Liz Cunningham went 2-for-3 with two RBI in the win, while Opal Nash hit a two-run homer in the victory.

The Lady Pirates scored six runs in the first and seven in the second en route to the victory. Mckenna Hanson had a double and RBI, while Emma Smith drove in two runs.

Pirates get past Great Falls

Polson won their first Saturday game in the Great Falls G-Funk Throwdown on Saturday, June 15, downing Great Falls Fusion 5-4. Mckenna Hanson went 2-for-2 with a home run, double, and two RBI.

Great Falls was held to three hits by Polson starting pitcher Sam Rensvold, who struck out four.

Polson led 3-0 after two innings before Great Falls tied it up in the top of the third. The Lady Pirates responded with two runs.

The Lady Pirates had six hits, including a double by Sierra Perez, who drove in two runs. Opal Nash also drove in a run.

Polson opens up Great Falls tournament with loss

Missoula scored eight runs in the top of the fourth for a 10-9 victory over Polson in the Great Falls G-Funk Throwdown on Friday, June 14.

Polson led 5-2 after three innings before Missoula’s big rally. The Lady Pirates responded with four runs in the bottom of the frame but it wasn’t enough in the loss.

Mckenna Hanson had a double and two RBI, while Avery Starr also drove in two runs. Opal Nash, Liz Cunningham and Emma Smith had an RBI in the victory.

Polson finished with four errors in the game.
