Veritas Grill offers fun summer food at Boettcher
Does a smash burger with bacon, cheese, and grilled onions fire up your appetite? How about a Philly-cheese steak sandwich?
The Veritas Grill at Boettcher Park in Polson can fix you up with either.
Chef Michael Tomolea-Atwood said when a friend mentioned the concession building at Boettcher Park was available, he was intrigued with the opportunity to prepare quality food in that location.
He recruited chef Tommy Fitzgerald, and together, they found Kina Nelson and her boyfriend Andrew Hoffman to help out.
Then, the chefs picked their two favorite park foods – a smash burger and a Philly-cheese steak sandwich – and opened the Veritas Grill on June 6. As a side, there are carrots and ranch dressing.
They also have slush floats, as in slushy root beer with ice cream, or other flavors, such as huckleberry and orange.
On their menu are several mocktails (non-alcoholic cocktails) with fresh fruit. Nelson’s favorite is a pina colada with crushed pineapple, pineapple juice, Coco Lopez, and coconut cream. The strawberry version has fresh pureed strawberries.
For coffee lovers there are frozen coffees flavored with chocolate, vanilla or caramel.
In the ice-cream department, they serve vanilla and huckleberry. The grill also offers pup cups for furry friends visiting the park for a walk, a swim, or some ball playing.
Chef Michael is a veteran, and says Veritas offers a 15% discount for veterans, military personnel, nurses, first responders and teachers. The grill also donates to a local charity.
Veritas’ hours are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily. The number for call-in orders is 406-833-0440.
