A Pablo man, who drew the attention of law enforcement for allegedly throwing rocks at passing motorists, is also accused of possessing drugs and is a suspect in a Pablo arson fire. Adrian Aaron Begay, 37, entered a plea of not guilty in Polson District Court Feb. 29 to one count of felony criminal possession of dangerous drugs.

According to charging documents, on Jan. 25, 2023, Polson Police responded to a report of a man throwing rocks at passing vehicles. At the scene, a man matching the description of the alleged rock thrower was located and identified as Begay.

He was already wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to appear on a previous drug possession charge. When he was brought to jail, he was allegedly in possession of methamphetamine.

A request for bond reduction was denied by Judge Deborah "Kim" Christopher, after Lake County Attorney James Lapotka objected. Lapokta then revealed that Begay might be charged in the coming days with arson. That charge stems from a trailer home in Pablo that appears to have been intentionally set on fire and subsequently destroyed on Feb 20.

Judge Christopher set the drug possession case for trial Aug. 26. Begary remains in the Lake County Jail with a bond totaling $30,000.
