Ronan schedules spring cleanup

| May 2, 2024 12:00 AM

Rustle up those garbage bags and pull out the rakes and shovels: It’s time for Ronan’s annual Spring Cleanup.

In cooperation with local schools, the chamber of commerce, City of Ronan and Republic Services, citizens are encouraged to clean up the community May 2-9.

Republic Services has donated the use of a large dumpster, which will be located across from the firehall at 210 Adams St. SW. The city will pick up large items on request; call 406-676-4231 to schedule.

“Please, let’s all take advantage of this opportunity to clean up our town,” says Public Works manager Dan Miller.

Polson has also scheduled a community-wide cleanup effort in May, under the auspices of the Greater Polson Community Foundation. Volunteers should bring their own garbage bags and equipment for “Clean Up, Green Up” and are invited to call organizer Christine Pitts at 406-253-0754 “and let us know where you would like to clean up or for suggestions of areas in need.”

Other community services during the month of May are Shred Day at Glacier Bank on May 17 and the Electronic Waste Day at the Lake County Transfer Station south of Polson on May 18.
