Polson Seniors: Tuesday is Commodity Day
Tuesday, May 21, is commodity delivery day. The truck arrives 10 a.m. Help us unload, sort and bag. Distribution is 1-3 p.m.
We will be closed on Monday, May 27, Memorial Day.
We provide ride services for elderly and disabled persons in the Polson area for a $5 charge ($1 for additional stops). Call in the day before or earlier for a ride; only two drivers so call early.
Two positions are available with the Nutrition Program, either full or part time: nutrition director with food service skills and/or another full-time head cook.
Wednesday is game day at 12:30 p.m. Bring a game and a group of friends.
Activities at the Polson center, open to all, include: wood carving for beginners, 1 p.m. Wednesday and Friday; self-guided, video-assisted exercise, 10:30-11:30 a.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, sitting or standing; bingo, 6:30 p.m. Fridays ($100 blackout), with playing card bingo on the first and third Wednesdays; pinochle, 12:30-3 p.m. Thursdays.
The pool table is open 8 a.m.-3 p.m. weekdays. Inquire at the center about bridge.
A veteran’s representative visits the center on the first Friday and third Tuesday of each month.
Meals are available for sit-down, take-out or delivery from 11:45 a.m.-12:30 p.m. weekdays; a suggested donation of $5 helps support the nutrition program. The menu is posted each week at the center, although it’s subject to change. Call before 10 a.m. for grab-n-go.
Upcoming main dishes include chicken enchiladas, May 16; pizza, May 17; split pea soup, May 20; ham loaf, May 21; Swedish meatballs, May 22; corn dogs, May 23; Birthday Dinner for Lunch with roast beef, potatoes and gravy, May 24.
