Delaney stands out at Western A Divisional

Polson and Ronan had several trips to the podium during the Western A Divisional Track Meet in Columbia Falls on Saturday, May 18.

On the girls’ side, Polson freshman Morgan Delaney was second in the 800-meter run (2:24.45) and third in the 1,600-meter run (5:18.20).

Polson finished seventh in the 4x100 relay (54.39) and sixth in the 4x400 (4:26.55) while Ronan was eighth (4:37.93).

Ronan’s Zailee Hewankorn was fifth in the shot put (34-2.5).

Polson’s Amelia Stene was eighth in the 100-meter run (13.42) and fifth in the 200-meter run (27.92). She was also fourth in the long jump (16-2).

On the boys’ side, Polson’s David DiGiallonardo was fifth in the 800-meter run (1:59.95) while Ronan’s Tayen Edmo was seventh in the event (2:02.09). DiGiallonardo was fifth in the 800-meter run (1:59.95) and Edmo was seventh in the same event.

DiGiallonardo placed fifth in his third event, the 1600-meter run, with a time of 4:31.88, while Ronan’s Jacob Piapot was eighth (4:35.87). Piapot placed fourth in the 3,200-meter run (10:13.63) and Polson’s Jackson Bontadelli was fifth (10:17.74).

In the 110-meter hurdles, Polson’s Ashten Nelson was eighth (16.95). Ronan’s Wade Qualtier was sixth (42.24) in the 300-meter hurdles.

In the relays, Polson was sixth in the 4x100 (45.62) while Ronan was seventh (45.82). In the 4x400 race, Ronan was third (3:31.96).

Polson’s Astin Brown was third in the shot put (51-9), while Ronan’s Siouxpism Qualtier was fourth in the pole vault (12-0), and teammate Kolby Finley was seventh (11-6).

Polson’s Ashten Nelson was fifth in the long jump (20-3.25), while Ronan’s Connor Durglo was sixth (20-0.5). In the triple jump, Durlgo was fourth (42-1).

The top placers move on to the State Class A Track Meet, beginning this Friday in Laurel.
