Women 4 Wellness – noon-6 p.m. May 23 at the Joe McDonald Health and Fitness Center, Salish Kootenai College in Pablo; annual event focuses on health education and disease prevention by offering free or low-cost health screenings and information designed specifically for women. Screenings include bone density ultrasound, immunizations, mental health services, breast exams, cervical screenings, thyroid gland examinations, chiropractic screening, men’s health, vision screenings, and more. Unveiling: Artist Cameron Decker’s outdoor sculpture – 6 p.m. May 23 on the corner of Third St. and Main in Polson; this long-awaited public art piece was commissioned by the Polson Community Development Agency for their final beautification project and incorporates a trout, a stone, an arrowhead and a log. The artists says it honors the heritage of the Salish and Kootenai Tribes and their deep connection to the lake.

Memorial Day Parades – Polson: departing at 10:30 a.m. May 27 from the Elks Lodge on Main Street with a ceremony to follow at Lake View Cemetery on Hillcrest Dr.; Ronan: 12:30 p.m. on Main Street, ceremony to follow at Mountain View Cemetery on Foothills Dr.

Jam Canning Class – 10 a.m.-1 p.m. May 28 at Arlee Community Development Corporation; light refreshments will be served and participants will take home a jar of jam. Space is limited; call 406-726-5550 or email info@arleecdc.org.

Reception: "Talk the Talk: Then and Now – Student Photographs 2001-2024" – 5-7 p.m. May 30 at the Three Woodcocks Gallery at Salish Kootenai College; exhibit, on display through Aug. 30, celebrates the photography of Two Eagle River and SKC students, under the tutelage of master photographer David Spear.

Open Mic and Jam – 7 p.m. Fridays at the Western Montana Musicians Co-op, Ronan; also on tap is a weekly Community Jam at 7 p.m. Saturdays. The cooperative is located in the Red Poppy Building, 1 Eisenhower St. SW in Ronan. Learn more at www.mtmusic.org.

Mission Valley Chainsaw Carving Rendezvous – June 6-9 at the Lake County Fairgrounds in Ronan; 12 talented artists from across United States and beyond carve works to be auctioned off at 1 p.m. Sunday. They’ll also complete daily “quick carves,” with some available for auction on Friday evening at 6 p.m. A quilt show is also on tap. Call 406-261-4897 for details.
