Ronan council approves street closures for summer events

The Ronan City Council helped clear the way for summer events Wednesday evening by approving the following open container permits and street closures:

• The Ronan High School Food Truck and Cornhole Tournament, 4-8 p.m. June 1 in front of the Ronan Co-op Brewery on Fourth Ave. from Main to the alley;

• Mission Valley Cruisers Car Show, noon-8 p.m. July 12 in front of the brewery from Main to Round Butte Road.

The council also approved Ronan Chamber of Commerce’s application for an open container permit on June 22 from 2 to 6 p.m. at the fairgrounds for the Summer Solstice Brew and Music Festival.

Also discussed was reapplication for subdivisions, when the owners have reconsidered. Council would like to see the process started with a pre-application, which they conveyed to Dan Miller, Ronan’s director of Public Works.

In the interest of getting paperwork for the Ronan Water Project into the system and completed by the end of June, the council voted to move their next meeting to June 5 at 6 p.m.
