Ronan Softball bows out with loss to Fergus

Facing a 6-0 deficit in the top of the seventh, Ronan rallied to keep their season alive but fell short against Fergus 6-4 in the consolation bracket of the MHSA Class A State Softball Tournament on Friday, May 24, in Billings.

Ronan outhit Fergus 13-7 in the matchup, and Nikki Kendall pitched the final three-and-two-thirds innings, allowing just three hits while striking out seven.

Leading off, Ally Luedtke went 3-for-4, while Kaydnce Santos was 3-for-3 with two RBI and a double. Kendall had a double and drove in a run in the matchup.

With the loss, Ronan concluded the season with a 19-9 record.

Maidens fall to Columbia Falls

Ronan fell to eventual state champion Columbia Falls 10-0 in the second round of the state softball tournament on Friday, May 24.

Ronan was held to one hit and committed three errors in the game.

Columbia Falls scored one run in the first, two in the second and third, and notched a five-run rally in the fourth.

Nikki Kendall started the game and struck out three. Neveah Perez provided the only hit for the Maidens.

Ronan opens state tourney with win

Nikki Kendall homered and struck out 12 batters in Ronan’s 7-6 victory over Glendive in the opening round of the Class A State Tournament on Friday, May 24.

Ronan took an early 3-0 lead in the first inning and added two runs in the fifth and sixth for the win. The Maidens had 14 hits, including a 4-for-4 performance by Ally Luedtke, which included a double.

Kendall homered and doubled to finish with four RBI, while Kaydnce Santos also had an RBI on 2-for-4 batting. Kailyn Marengo, Santos, and Luedtke had doubles in the matchup.
