| November 14, 2024 12:00 AM

Michael John Molzhon, a devoted husband, father and grandfather, passed away peacefully on Oct. 26, 2024, in Ronan at the age of 78. Born on Aug. 30, 1946, to Anton and Adella Molzhon, Michael was a lifelong resident of the Ronan area and a proud member of the community.

In 1965, Michael married his beloved wife, Donna. Together, they created a close-knit family and raised three children: Monica McClure (Mitch McClure), Michael Molzhon (Melissa Molzhon), and Jerimy Molzhon (Lori Molzhon). Michael was a cherished grandfather to seven grandchildren – Merideth Tobol (Reed Tobol), Dalton Molzhon (Carley Molzhon), Benjamin Molzhon, Courtney Pichler (Bradley Pichler), Brett Molzhon, Micah McClure, and Matson McClure – and a loving great-grandfather to six great-grandchildren: Kynzlee, Tilden, Stetson, Tealynn, Kyleigh and Tennisen.

A 1964 graduate of Ronan High School, Michael worked as a skilled masonry contractor for many years. He was especially known for his dedication to creating beautiful flagstone fireplaces and entryways.

In his free time, he enjoyed the outdoors, spending time gold mining, hunting and fishing – pastimes that connected him to the natural beauty of Montana and brought him joy alongside family and friends.

Michael will be remembered for his deep love for his family, his strong work ethic, and his zest for life. A longtime member of the Ronan community, he leaves behind a legacy of kindness, resilience and dedication.

Michael is preceded in death by his parents, Anton and Adella; his brothers, Laurence and Allan; and his sisters, Mary, Joanne and Anella.

He is survived by his wife, Donna; his children, Monica, Michael and Jerimy; his grandchildren, Merideth, Dalton, Benjamin, Courtney, Brett, Micah and Matson; his great-grandchildren, Kynzlee, Tilden, Stetson, Tealynn, Kyleigh and Tennisen; his brother, George, and sister Pat; and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Michael’s life will be held in the Summer 2025 for family and friends. Messages of condolences may be shared with the family online at shriderthompson.com.
