Renowned author keynotes SKC Climate Symposium
Renowned author and scientist Robin Wall Kimmerer is keynote speaker at the second annual Regional Climate Symposium, Nov. 21-22 at Salish Kootenai College’s Joe McDonald Health and Education Center.
This event, sponsored by the SKC Climate Learning Hub, promises an engaging and enlightening agenda for anyone interested in climate issues. The program includes discussions, workshops and networking opportunities.
Dr. Kimmerer, a renowned author, scientist, and advocate for indigenous ecological knowledge, will share her insights Friday on the intersection of climate science and traditional ecological practices. She’s the author of “Braiding Sweetgrass” and “Gathering Moss,” two books that blend science and Indigenous wisdom.
Her talk is open only to registered symposium participants, and priority will be given to SKC students and employees, CSKT employees and residents of the Flathead Reservation. If space allows, individuals who register for the symposium will also be offered a ticket to her talk.
