Cheerful Touch offers Reiki to cancer patients

Cheerful Touch, a personal care program offered by Cheerful Heart to cancer patients currently in treatment, recently added Reiki to its offerings.

Reiki is a therapy relating to energy healing, offered by local practitioner Sharon McGuire. The technique can help reduce stress and anxiety and encourage relaxation using gentle touch and hand placement for healing. The technique also helps bring balance to the body.

According to McGuire, Reiki does not treat conditions on its own but can be used to support traditional treatment.

Cheerful Touch also offers massage and skin, nail and hair care. Patients are encouraged to consult with their doctors before using these services.
