Outgoing economic development director praises Polson amenities
I wanted to take a moment to highlight the incredible community we’ve experienced in Polson. As pandemic-era transplants, we've come to love the small business community, which has been a cornerstone of our lives. From exceptional child care to unique shops and our favorite coffee shop, we are truly grateful for all the Polson and the valley have given us.
As a mom of a 4-year-old (almost 5-year-old) and a 9-month-old, I’m incredibly grateful for the childcare options in Polson. Our kids have been at Fun and Fancy Free Learning Center, and it’s been the absolute best.
Having lived all over the Northwest, we can confidently say that there are no daycares that compare. The staff, the facility and the families are amazing. It’s truly another family.
Owners Lisa and Alex have built something so special. Their dedication to providing a nurturing and caring childcare experience is apparent in all aspects of their business.
Another amazing place for families is Head Over Heels, owned by Jessica and Jason. On Saturdays, we attend their open gym. Not only is it a great place for kids to get wiggles out in the long winter, but it’s also a fantastic opportunity to meet other families. If you’re new to the community and have kids, the open gym is a must.
I’d also like to highlight a few more of our favorites; Oaks, the Little Shop Montana, Mission Mountain Natural Foods, HandMADE Montana, the Cove, Maxine’s, Briar’s Baby Boutique, Second Nature, and The Rack. These stores collectively contribute so much to the look and feel of our downtown community and provide great local options for clothing and unique gifts and goods.
Finally, I can’t forget to mention Good Coffee Roasting Co., where we go every Sunday morning for "secret coffee," aka hot chocolate with whip cream and sprinkles. It’s become a cherished weekend routine for our family and we are going to miss the staff and the mixed berry scones.
As a career economic development professional, I’ve witnessed firsthand the positive impact of our local business community. Anyone can see the benefits, but as someone who has lived in various communities throughout the Northwest, I understand how unique Polson and the valley are.
I’m grateful for my time here and would like to offer some advice to locals and transplants alike: get involved in community events and don’t be afraid to participate. Polson is truly a special place to live.
