Polson remains undefeated in Northwest A volleyball

There is little doubt that Polson volleyball is looking strong in Northwest A Conference play, and their sweep of Libby on Thursday, Sept. 26, only furthered their record impressive in league play.

The Lady Pirates downed Libby 25- 17, 25-14, 25-17, moving Polson to 4-0 in the Northwest A Conference, while the Lady Loggers fell to 0-4.

Sam Rensvold led the team with ten kills, while Mckenna Corley added nine. Rylee Taylor-Jefferson had 28 assists, while Alyesia Black had 18 digs and three aces. Rensvold also had nine digs on defense.

Polson clinched a crucial fourth set to stay alive and then downed Whitefish 22-25, 25-23, 17-25, 25-23, 15-13 in a hotly contested Northwest A Conference showdown between league powers on Tuesday, Sept. 24.

Polson’s McKenna Corley led all players with 22 kills, while Whitefish’s Isabella Hartwig wasn’t far behind with 21 – showcasing what an offensive battle it was. Rylee Taylor-Jefferson put up John Stockton-esque numbers, dishing out 36 assists, while Sam Rensvold was a terror from behind the stripe with five aces. Rensvold also had 15 digs and Aleysia Black had 15 as well.

Maidens take Columbia Falls to five

Ronan played Columbia Falls to the wire, but ultimately fell in Northwestern A Conference action 25-16, 17-25, 25-22, 16-25, 15-13 on Tuesday, Sept. 24.

Sierra Blood and Zailee Hewankorn were on the attack for the Maidens, each blasting 13 kills in the matchup. Running the office was Seattle Chartraw, who posted 37 assists.

Meanwhile on defense, Kaydance Santos had 21 digs, while Hewankorn had 15. Blood also added 14 and Chartraw had nine.

On Saturday, Sept. 28, Ronan swept Libby to improve to 2-3.

Mission tops Superior

Mission picked up a victory at home 25-20, 25-10, 25-23 against District 7B for their second straight win in league play on Tuesday, Sept. 24. The ever-constant threat on offense for the Lady Bulldogs, Alecia Steele, posted 12 kills and four aces while also leading the team with six digs.

Cora Matt also had 12 kills, notched three aces, and collected one block. Brooke Tanner and Kieran Incashola also had three aces, while Amelia Cronk had five digs.

Mission improved to 3-5 on the season with the victory.

Charlo volleyball improves to 5-2

Charlo picked up a 25-15, 25-22, 25-14 victory at Eureka on Thursday, September 26. The victory snapped a two-game losing streak and improved the Lady Vikings to 5-2 on the year with six games left in the regular season.
