Ronan downs Polson in volleyball showdown

In the always-heated Ronan-Polson matchup, the Maidens took home the four-set 25-21, 21-25, 25-19, 25-20 victory over the Lady Pirates on Saturday, Oct. 5.

Sierra Blood led Ronan with 13 kills, while Lauryn Buhr had eight. Blood also had four aces, while Seattle Chartraw had 28 assists.

Polson was led by McKenna Corley’s 18 kills, and Sam Rensvold added 11. Embree Bird had three aces for the Lady Pirates. Rylee Taylor-Jefferson notched 33 assists.

On defense, Ronan’s Zailee Hewankorn had 25 digs, while Kaydance Santos collected 19, and Chartraw had 16. In all, Ronan had 83 digs as a team. Embree Bird had 17 digs for Polson and Aleysia Black had 15.

Ronan improved to 3-3 in conference play. Polson is now 5-1.

Lady Pirates defeat Bigfork

Sam Rensvold had 18 kills, and Polson came back from two sets down against Bigfork to remain undefeated in Northwest A Conference play by scores of 19-25, 24-26, 27-25, 25-18, 15-13 on Thursday, Oct. 3. 

McKenna Corley added 14 kills, while Aleysia Black and Rylee Taylor-Jefferson each had four aces. 

Taylor Jefferson also had 38 assists, while Embree Bird led the Lady Pirates with 19 digs. 

Ronan sweeps Browning

The Maidens made quick work of Browning in Northwest A Conference action on Tuesday, October 1, winning 25-4, 25-11, 25-11.

Sierra Blood had 16 kills, while Seattle Chartraw had 28 assists.

Lauryn Buhr put up two blocks, and Zailee Hewankorn had five digs.
