Audubon program explores birding in Mexico
Josh Covill presents the Mission Mountain Audubon's next educational program, "Birding and the Day of the Dead in Oaxaca, Mexico," at 7 p.m. Oct. 24 in the North Lake County Library meeting room in Polson.
Mexico is a vibrant and diverse country, full of birds and cultures found nowhere else. This is especially true of the state of Oaxaca. Covill will recount the exciting birds, cultures, and world-class food from his recent travels to this region of Mexico, which he experienced during one of the most significant celebrations of the year: The Day of the Dead.
Covill, who grew up in western Montana, started birding when he was 13 years old and has since made birds the focus of his life. So much so, in fact, that he started his own Montana bird-guiding company – Glacier Birding Adventures – and leads international birding tours for Hillstar Nature.
His presentation is free and open to all.
