With 15 miles separating Mission and Arlee, it doesn’t get much more local in rivalry than that. The Bulldogs won the eight-man football matchup 56-16 over the Warriors to improve to 5-1 on the season.

Arlee led 8-6 in the first quarter as Kaiden Ostby had a six-yard run to score and a Brody Smith conversion run. Mission got their six points from a Ryan Sharbono five-yard touchdown run.

In the second quarter, Vinny Shepard scored on a three-yard touchdown run for the Bulldogs and then three a 15-yard touchdown pass to Titan Mansell. Mission led 20-8 at halftime, and their third quarter proved even more impressive.

Shepard threw a six-yard touchdown pass to Mansell and then had a 14-yard touchdown run. 34-8. Arlee scored in the third quarter on a 20-yard touchdown pass from Ostby to Grady O’Connor.

Shepard, however, continued to score, hitting Lex LaFrombois for a 42-yard touchdown and Iyezk Umphrey for a 26-yard score. After three quarters, Mission led 50-16.

Shepard finished the night with his fifth touchdown pass, hitting Mansell for his third touchdown reception for a 36-yard score.

Mission has won four straight, averaging 54 points per game in that stretch. The loss snapped a two-game win streak for Arlee.
