A Polson man is accused of choking his girlfriend at an RV park in Ronan. Shellton Scott Hall, 25, entered a plea of not guilty in District Court in Polson Oct. 17 to felony strangulation of a partner or family member.

According to charging documents, on Sept. 25 a Lake County Sheriff’s Deputy responded to a report of a possible domestic disturbance at a camper site at Mission Meadows RV Park. The reporting party indicated she heard screaming and hollering coming from site D-11.

The deputy spoke with a woman identified by the initials M.S. at the campsite. M.S. stated that her boyfriend, Hall, was drinking and being an a**hole the last couple of weeks. She says she was trying to gather some of her belongings from her vehicle, and Hall got in it and wouldn’t let her leave.

She says she went to the camper to get other belongings and Hall closed the door behind her and refused to let her leave. She said that was when things turned physical, and Hall began choking her and slapped her. She said at one point she couldn’t breath and almost blacked out.

The deputy observed an injury near the alleged victim’s right eye, as well as marks on her neck, along with a scratch.

Judge John A. Mercer set the case for trial Feb. 24, 2025. Hall remains at liberty.
