Polson Seniors: Spinning group meets at center
The Mission Mountain Spinners group is new to our activity list (see below). Bring your spinning wheel, fiber, etc. from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month, beginning Nov. 5. Call Linda, 208-520-1013.
Due to the increasing numbers of meals being served daily, we are seeking another part-time cook that has experience with cafeteria-style cooking. Wage DOE.
Sign up at the center for computer/cell phone literacy classes. Bring your grandparents. Welcome to the 21st century!
See’s Candy is in and costs $27.00 per box. Cheap price for 16 ounces of gourmet treats.
Bowling “no-tap” is Tuesdays, 1-3 p.m. Have fun knocking those pins down (or not). Call Don at 406-885-5617 for details.
Activities at the Polson center, open to all, include: wood carving for beginners, 1 p.m. Wednesday and Friday, join any week; self-guided, video-assisted exercise, 10:30-11:30 a.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, sitting or standing; bingo, 6:30 p.m. Fridays ($100 blackout), with playing card bingo on the first and third Wednesdays.
Pinochle is now offered two days a week: 12:30-3 p.m. Mondays or Thursdays; beginners are welcome. Inquire at the center about bridge.
The Spinning Wheelers meet at 11 a.m. on the first Tuesday of each month; bring spinning wheel and fiber.
Wednesday is game day – bring a game and a group of friends from 1-3 p.m. The pool table is open 8 a.m.-3 p.m. weekdays. Mah-jong players meet at noon Wednesdays.
A veteran’s service officer visits the center on the first Friday and third Tuesday of each month; Memory Café by Angel Care, a cognitive support group, meets on the first Tuesday of each month.
Meals are available for sit-down from 11:45 a.m.-12:30 p.m. weekdays, and delivered to qualified people who call before 10 a.m. A suggested donation of $5 helps support the nutrition program.
Upcoming main dishes include: beef in a blanket, Oct. 24; and Birthday Dinner for Lunch with roast pork and all the fixings, Oct. 25; cabbage patch soup, Oct. 28; beef stew over bread, Oct. 29; taco salad, Oct. 30; scary cat chicken, bloody beets, croaky frog-eye salad, and petrified pumpkin bars, Oct. 31; and pork tips, Nov. 1.
