For the second year, the Greater Polson Community Foundation has awarded the Mission Valley Choral Society with an IMPACT grant. According to a press release, the funds will be used to purchase music for the Christmas and spring concert weekends.

Practice for the two Christmas Holiday Concerts begins Thursday, Sept. 26, from 7-9 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Polson, and continues through the holiday concert weekend, Dec. 14-15. The spring concert weekend has yet to be scheduled.

Veteran choral director Cathy Gillhouse directs the choir, which has existed since the 1960s and brings together a diverse group of people, of all ages and varied backgrounds, united to bring joy through music.

Gillhouse invites “anyone who enjoys singing” to join and notes that basses and baritones are especially needed.
