Park comes back against Polson boys soccer

Polson led in the first half, but Park notched two second-half goals for a 2-1 victory on Saturday, Aug. 31, to open the season.

Roman Sawyer made the most of the first game of the year, finding the back of the net on an assist from Dion Lichtenberg.

The Pirates’ lead would last until the midway point of the second half when Park scored two goals within a minute of each other.

Polson tried to battle back, peppering eleven shots at Park’s goal, including four coming in stoppage time, but the Pirates could not find the equalizer.

Both teams had 19 shots on each other, with Polson goalkeeper Maddox Bird notching seven saves.

Park surges in first half against Polson girls

Park scored three goals in the first half en route to a 4-1 victory on Saturday, Aug. 31, to kick off the season.

The Lady Rangers scored in the first, eighth, and 22nd minutes. Before halftime, Viviane Armstrong passed to Rosie Lies for the Lady Pirates' first goal of the year.

Park would add one more goal in the second half and finished with 29 shots in the game, while Polson had six. Olivia Ramirez posted nine saves for Polson.
