Polson cross country has young standouts
Polson’s cross-country team will be young this year, but there will surely be some standouts.
“Last year was very successful with a big group of senior leaders and experienced runners wrapping up their Pirates XC careers,” Polson Head Coach Matt Seeley said.
This year, juniors David DiGiallonardo and Brittian Davis will be the Pirates’ most experienced runners, while sophomores Jackson Bontadelli and Morgan Delaney will lead the team and be among the top runners in the conference and state.
“We also expect freshmen Wyatt Boogerd and Kimora Scott to make big contributions right away,” Seeley said. “Half our varsity girls will be freshmen, and we have one freshman boy ready to jump onto varsity.”
Seeley added that while this group is fairly inexperienced, they are excited about running and ready to work hard.
“Enthusiasm, endurance, and fearlessness should be the strength of our top runners,” Seeley said. “With the large size of the Western A conference, there will always be great runners and strong teams. As usual, Polson can't match the numbers but still hopes to compete individually for some of those coveted All-Conference spots.”
