Ronan opens volleyball season with flurry of matches

At the Havre East/West Crossover, Ronan got a look at what other conferences in Class A before regular match play begins.

Against Glendive, Ronan fell 24-26, 21-24, 15-11 as Lauryn Buhr notched seven kills and Kaydance Santos had 13 digs. Seattle Adams had 16 assists directing the offense.

Sierra Blood lead the Maidens against Fergus with six kills, and Ronan fell 18-25, 22-25, 15-13. Santos had 13 digs and did Blood. Adams notched three aces and 16 assists.

Against Sidney, Ronan picked up the 25-19, 25-21, 8-15 victory. Santos had 17 digs, while Blood had 11 kills, and Adams dished out 19 assists.

Blood had 10 kills against Miles City as the Maidens fell 23-25, 15-25, 15-11. Zailee Hewankorn collected 10 digs, while Adams had 20 assists.

In their matchup against Havre, Santos had 15 digs, Adams had 14 assists and Blood had seven kills in a 12-25, 23-25, 9-15 loss.

In the Tip-Off Tournament in Frenchtown the previous weekend, Ronan downed Stevensville 25-24, 25-17 as Hewankorn had 11 digs, Adams had 10 assists, and Buhr put up 2.5 blocks. 

The Maidens fell to Frenchtown 10-25, 18-25 as Adams had five digs and five assists, while Hewankorn notched four kills.

Ronan picked up a 25-18, 25-17 victory against Butte Central, with Maddy Illig scoring five kills. Sarah Templer had six aces, and Hewankorn dished out 15 assists. 

Against Corvallis, the Maidens won 25-21, 25-14 as Blood notched eight kills and Aubrey Krell had eight digs. Adams directed the offense with 16 assists.

Ronan fell to Hamilton 22-25, 12-25 but got eight digs from Hewankorn and four kills from Buhr.

The Maidens defeated Dillon 25-22, 25-23, with Blood collecting seven digs and six kills and Adams dishing out 17 assists.

The Maidens played Corvallis again, winning 25-17, 25-18 as Adams had 22 assists and Hewankorn notched 11 kills, 10 digs, and four aces.
