Ronan wins first conference game of season
Mission Valley football teams had mixed results last week. Ronan won its Northwest A Conference matchup, while Arlee, Charlo, and Mission posted losses.
Ronan won its Northwest A Conference matchup against Libby, hanging over for a 22-19 victory over Libby. A fourth-quarter touchdown by the Chiefs proved to be the difference maker.
Arlee had a tight game, eventually falling in a barn-burner to St. Regis-Mullan (ID) 30-28. After the two teams were scoreless in the first half, a Bridger Smith four-yard touchdown run and a 57-yard score by Eli O’Neill put the Warriors up 14-8 at halftime.
After an Arlee touchdown in the third quarter, St. Regis-Mulan (ID) scored two touchdowns to pull ahead 24-20 in the fourth quarter. Arlee would answer back to go up 28-24, but St. Regis-Mullan scored the final game-winning score for the victory.
Mission lost to Seeley Swan 34-6, moving the Blackhawks to 3-0 on the season. Seeley Swan scored 22 points in the second quarter to take a commanding 28-0 halftime lead, and both teams exchanged touchdowns in the second half.
Charlo dropped its matchup against Flint Creek, 62-0.
