Mission volleyball batters Troy
Mission won its second game of the year, defeating District 7B Troy 25-18, 25-16, 17-25, 25-16 on Friday, Sept. 20.
“I feel like the team is finding their rhythm,” Mission Head Coach Marissa Mock said. “We have had some tough competition and put up a fight against those teams. Going forth, we have minor things to iron out as the season progresses.”
Alecia Steele led the team with 15 kills, while Cora Matt had 12.
“Alecia is continuing to stand out for us this season,” Mock said. “She is a dominant attacker and puts up several kills for us each set, along with her strong defense in the back row. She covers the floor and gets the pass to the setters when we need them.”
Kensey Burke has also been covering the floor very well for us this season. She pops out of nowhere and digs a ball we all thought was landing on the floor. Her coverage has been very impressive this season.
Jaden Domebo dished out 19 assists, while Amelia Cronk had 16. Meanwhile, on defense, Madison Incashola had 11 digs, while Liena Peone had 10. Incashola and Matt each had three blocks, while Domebo and Cronk had three aces.

The Lady Bulldogs lost three contested sets to Eureka on Thursday, September 19, 27-25, 25-18, 25-23. Steele led the team with 13 kills and 11 digs.
Brooke Tanner also had 11 digs, and Kensey Burke had seven digs, as did E’Liena Peone.
“Kensey Burke has also been covering the floor very well for us this season,” Mock said. “She pops out of nowhere and digs a ball we all thought was landing on the floor. Her coverage has been very impressive this season.”
Jada Domebo had 13 assists, and Amelia Cronk had 11. Madisyn Hanken had two aces, while Kieran Inchashola had two blocks.
