A woman from Kennewick, Wash., is accused of dealing large amounts of fentanyl in Lake County. Wyndi Kaydean Williams, 26, entered a plea of not guilty to criminal possession with intent to distribute in District Court in Polson March 27.

According to court records, on March 16, security staff at the KwaTaqNuk Resort notified Polson Police that they discovered a baggie containing 30 to 40 suspected fentanyl pills.

Law enforcement reviewed the surveillance video that appeared to show a woman, later identified as Williams, searching for something in the area where the baggie was located. William’s vehicle, with Washington license plates, was parked in the parking lot.

Officers obtained a search warrant for the room where Williams and a companion were staying. After knocking and announcing their presence, the officers entered the room and found them and a suspected meth pipe in plain view.

Williams allegedly admitted to having used methamphetamine and fentanyl earlier that day. A further search of the room turned up multiple quart-size Ziploc baggies wrapped in Saran Wrap and electrical tape.

Each baggie contained approximately 500 pills. Ten more Saran-wrapped baggies containing approximately 100 pills each were hidden in a Doritos bag. In total, about 3,000 suspected fentanyl pills were recovered.

The officers also seized approximately $2,000 cash. They documented burnt tinfoil in the room and a plastic baggie covering the room’s smoke detector.

The charging documents make no other mention of Williams’s companion, other than that he paid cash for the room registered to Williams.

According to a press release from KwaTaqNuk Resort, three suspects were apprehended. The release attributes the success of the drug bust to the collaboration with local law enforcement and the casino’s “advanced surveillance system.”

Flathead Tribal Police are continuing the investigation.

Judge John A. Mercer set Williams's trial date for Aug 25. Her bail is set at $100,000.
