Oregon man admits to felony sexual abuse of minor
A man from Salem, Ore., admitted to having inappropriate contact with a minor. Tyler Davis Booze, 30, entered a plea of guilty in District Court in Polson to felony sexual abuse of children.
The plea was entered as part of an agreement the calls for the imposition of sentencing to be deferred for six years. The judge is not bound by the agreement.
According to court records, on June 9, 2024, a deputy with the Lake County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a possible sexual assault in the Dayton area. The reporting party indicated that Booze was staying on his father’s property and sleeping in a tent in the backyard, which is where the alleged incident occurred.
Judge John A. Mercer set sentencing for May 15. Booze is at liberty after posting a $25,000 bond.
