Polson Seniors: Death and taxes
A person who works eight hours a day for five days a week works 2,080 hours a year. One half of that is 1,040 hours. The standard tax form is called the Form 1040, which is, so ironically, one half of 2080. The subliminal suggestion is that half of your wages go towards taxes.

Free AARP Tax Preparation Assistance continues on Mondays and Thursdays until April 15. Call us to make an appointment.
A certified nurse offers a toe-nail and callus clinic Friday, April 25. Cost is $30 and enrollment is limited so sign up. Clinics continue on the fourth Friday of each month.
We need driver(s) for a short delivery route starting April 16. One hour each weekday – single or multiple days. Dependability is a must. For info call 406-883-4735.
Bowling “no-tap” is Tuesdays, 1-3 p.m. Join any time.
Activities at the Polson center, open to all, include: self-guided, video-assisted exercise, 10:30-11:30 a.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays (move it or lose it!); bingo at 6 p.m. Fridays, with playing card bingo on the first Wednesday of each month.
Pinochle is now offered two days a week: 12:15-3 p.m. Mondays or Thursdays; and the pool table is open for play 8 a.m.-3 p.m. weekdays.
The Spinning Wheelers meet on the first Tuesday of each month (May 6) from 11 a.m.- 1 p.m.; call 208-520-1013.
Invite a foursome for Wednesday Play Day to play cards, board games, dominos, mah-jong, etc.
A veteran’s service officer visits the center on the first Friday and third Tuesday of each month.
Sit-down meals are available from 11:45 a.m.-12:30 p.m. weekdays, and delivered to qualified people who call before 10 a.m. A suggested donation of $5 helps support the nutrition program.
Upcoming main dishes include meatloaf, April 10; sloppy Joes, April 11; beef soup. April 14; chicken and dumpling soup on Tax Day, April 15; cheeseburger and steak fries, April 16; beef pot pie, April 17; baked fish for Good Friday, April 18; and Happy Easter, April 20 (hard-boiled eggs if you make them yourself).
