Super Oval hosts super egg hunt

Waving, the Easter bunny took a victory lap around the Mission Valley Super Oval at noon Saturday.
Children, from babes in arms to 12-year-olds, lined the track, eyeing the infield dotted with brightly colored eggs. When the buzzer announced the start, flying feet and trundling toddlers sped for the bounty.
The littlest kids had a parent carrying a basket to fill with eggs. The older kids had the option of gathering up cans of soda or eggs or both.
Cle Ann and Tony Undem, owners of the Mission Valley Super Oval, helped the Easter bunny hide the eggs. After the five-minute hunt, Tony grilled hot dogs for all the participants.
“It’s just so much fun,” Cle Ann said, handing out hot dogs and helping kids with catsup, mustard, and napkins.
The kids agreed, many with a hot dog in one hand as they opened eggs to find candy or tiny toys. The Easter bunny was available for a photo., and then it was time to bunny hop on home.
The Mission Valley Super Oval is located at 113 North Reservoir Road, north of Pablo. The event was one of several Easter egg hunts held across the Mission Valley, including Arlee, Ronan, Polson and Lake Mary Ronan.
