The $1,000 scholarship for a graduating high school senior from Lake County is named after the late Ken Rohrenbach, who worked for the Montana Job Service, served on the Polson School Board for 17 years, was a volunteer firefighter, and was an ardent supporter of all school activities. The scholarship honors students who have shown community involvement and determination, and have overcome adversity.

JSEC is an advisory committee comprised of area employers and representatives from the Job Service with the goal of identifying and addressing the needs of the business community. JSEC offers numerous services to the community, including low-cost educational seminars, career enhancement and employment activities, the Lake County Spring Job Fair, Assistance for Business Clinics; and the Ken Rohrenbach Scholarship.

Membership to the committee is free and businesses throughout the Mission Valley are encouraged to attend the monthly meetings, held at 8:30 a.m. on the third Tuesday of each month, September through June. Many of the meetings take place virtually over Zoom.
