MDT begins safety projects at Minesinger Trail/Reservoir Road
The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT), along with its partner Riverside Contracting, Inc., begins safety improvements on U.S. Highway 93 at the intersection with Minesinger Trail and North Reservoir Road next week. The intersection is located south of Polson.
Crews will realign the left-turning lanes, add reflectorized backplates on the traffic signal heads, and install radar detection, along with other minor improvements. According to an MDT press release, the purpose of this project is to enhance roadway safety features to improve sight distance and traffic operations.
Work is scheduled to begin the week of April 28 and continue through June, weather and other factors permitting. Crews will be working Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Travelers should expect flaggers, 10-15 minute delays, reduced speeds, and single-lane traffic through the project area. A detour will be in place for those wanting to turn off U.S. 93 onto Minesinger Trail, as crews will be installing a new drainage culvert.
Those traveling southbound on U.S. 93 will need to take Mud Lake Trail to Farm Road. Those traveling northbound will need to take Caffrey Road or Glover Road to Skyline Drive.
Drivers are encouraged to follow all posted signage and watch for workers. For the most up-to-date width restrictions and road conditions, visit https://www.511mt.net/.
