FFA Convention

Future Farmers of America will hold the annual Western Montana District meeting here March 25 and 26, with representation from nine chapters in attendance.

Max Stark, vocational agriculture teacher at the high school, said probably130 delegates would be present. He said also that the convention is held here about every nine or ten years, the last time being in 1944.

The program includes livestock judging contests, state agricultural tests, public speaking and parliamentary procedure contests, a basketball tournament and a banquet.

Students take Iowa tests at high school

Wednesday and Thursday of last week, high school sophomores and seniors took the Iowa tests of educational development.

Results of these tests are primarily for the use of students, and at graduation each one receives a data sheet on which a profile of the Iowa tests taken is plotted.

Mrs. J. Hilbert Hanson was hostess Thursday afternoon to the members of the Chapter AI of PEO at the H.S. Hanson home.

Mrs. W.C. Stimson was in charge of the program and gave a report from the president’s letter on the year’s activities. The meeting adjourned and light refreshments were served by the hostess.

Teel has high price for registered bull

Dr. Harold M. Teel of Polson received the fourth highest price paid for a bull at the registered Hereford sale in Missoula when E.E. Hazel of Missoula paid $460 for the animal. Highest price paid for a bull was $535.

Word has been received here of the marriage of Wm. Guinn, son of Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Guinn, now living in Coulee City, Wash., to Miss Lois Pierpoint, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Pierpoint, of Coulee City, at an 8 p.m. double-ring ceremony performed by Rev. Course in the Presbyterian church of Coulee City, Sunday evening, Feb. 16.

The parents of the bridal couple acted as attendants.
