Jeannine Marie Jackson, 64

| January 7, 2025 12:00 AM

Jeannine Marie Jackson of Ronan passed away Dec. 24, 2024, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Spokane from complications due to diabetes.

Jeannie was born Oct. 17, 1960, at St Luke Hospital in Ronan, to Lynn and Billie Mae Jackson. She joined siblings Valerie, Mark and Dianna at the family ranch in Round Butte. Jeannie grew up on the ranch, attending the Round Butte school, and later graduating from Ronan High School in 1979.

Jeannie worked at Lynn’s Drive-In in Ronan, then helped her mom establish and run Lynns II in Mission. After that, she worked at the Pheasant Lounge in Ronan, where she enjoyed banter and pool with customers, friends and family.

She moved on to working for MME for many years, where she enjoyed her coworkers and the people they cared for, and was equally enjoyed by them. She retired due to health reasons and spent her time in the Ronan area.

Jeannie met many people in her life, and most everyone enjoyed her straightforwardness and humor. She always laughed, even when she was ranting about something that she didn't agree with. She was understanding of people’s struggles, while downplaying her own.

A lifelong friend said of her, “Jeannie lived her life in a totally different sphere than the norm, but that made her all the more special. She was non-judgmental, sentimental, compassionate, weirdly intuitive, and crazy fun!”

She will be missed by her many family members and lifelong friends.

Jeannie was a descendant of the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes. She was also an organ donor.

She was preceded in death by her father, Lynn Jackson (1976), her mother, Billie Mae Jackson (2017), and her loyal canine friend, Sheena.

Jeannie is survived by her sister, Valerie Bartel (Tom), brother Mark Jackson (Chris) and sister Dianna Smith (Joe); nieces and nephews Kirk (Salinas), Karlissa (Albert), Kari (Jarred), Colette (Dale), Jami (BJ), Jace (Amanda), Jana (Jake) and Jackie (Andrew); as well as her great nieces and nephews, and numerous cousins.

To her special friends: “NEXTTIME”
