Nearly 30 runners compete in Sorry ’Bout That
Josh Krantz took top honors in Polson Running’s Sorry ’Bout That Half Marathon, held Saturday in Polson, with a time of 1:37, followed by Tristen Flagen with 1:45.
Although temperatures hovered around 32 degrees, runners didn’t seem to be slipping or sliding on the 13-mile route that began and ended at the Mission Valley Aquatic Center. The 29 participants ranged in age from 13 to 71.
Nine of them (including the top two placers) completed the route in less than two hours, including Isabel Seeley (1:47), Kate Leary (1:53), Myles Bieber (1:55), Shanna ManyWounds (1:56), Malia Seeley (1:57) Kyle Isaac (1:57:34), and Brittany Katzer (1:59).
The remaining 20 runners took between two and three hours to finish the course, which led them through town to Kerr Dam Road, along Back Road to North Reservoir Road, and back across the valley to the Polson bike trail and downhill to the Aquatic Center.
While the fastest half-marathon runners in the U.S. can complete a 13-mile course in 58 minutes, the average time, across ages and genders, is 1:50:15.
