MaryJane (MJ) Taylor, 96
MaryJane Taylor, 96, of Lakeside, passed at home on June 4, 2025. Known to many as MJ, she loved spending time with many special friends.
From July 1986-1987 she toured the U.S. with her husband in their motor home, taking in many landmarks and visiting family and friends. They retired in Lakeside July 1987.
MJ loved watching wildlife and several bird types at her home. Visiting the National Bison Range and going to her most special place, Glacier National Park, left her with many wonderful memories.
Previously married to Kenneth L. Benner (deceased) of West Chester, Pa., she is survived by their five children, Darlene (Al) Cranmer, Robert (Karen) Benner, Diane (Emerson) Wenrich, Mark Benner, and Glenn Benner; also stepson Rev Steven (Sherry) Taylor and stepdaughter Tonya Menotte. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and a few great-great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death was her husband of 36 years, George H. Taylor III.
She was born May 22, 1929, in Frazer, Pa., daughter of Howard S. and Elizabeth Bailey Taylor, both deceased. She’s also preceded in death by brothers William and Harold Taylor and sister Margaret E. Taylor Brackbill. One granddaughter, one grandson and one great-grandson also preceded her in death.
Her final resting place will be with her husband in Arlington National Cemetary, date yet to be determined by family.
A visitation will be held Friday, July 11, from 6-8 p.m. at the Lakeside Community Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Lakeside QRU, lakesideqru.org, or The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, givenow.lls.org.
