Good Old Days offers three days of family fun
Good Old Days in St. Ignatius turns 42 with a flurry of family-oriented fun, July 11-13 at Good Old Days Park.
Festivities begin Friday with the annual dessert-baking contest at 4 p.m. First prize is $100 for adults and $50 for junior contestants. A barbecue from 5-7 p.m. offers gourmet burgers and roast beef with all the fiixins’; vendors share their wares from 5-7 p.m. at the farmers’ market. Dance to live music at 7:30 p.m. at the amphitheater, with fireworks at dark.
The Buffalo Run begins at 8 a.m. Saturday with participants in the one-mile fun run, four-mile run, and seven-mile run all departing from in front of Gambles Hardware on Main Street. For more information, contact Whitney Liegakos at 406-528-5262 or email wliegakos@stlukehealthcare.org.
A pancake breakfast will be served 7-11 a.m. at the Senior Center, followed by bingo from 2-4 p.m.
The Good Old Days Parade begins at noon, followed by the ever-popular dog races at 1 p.m. Other events at the Good Old Days Park include family games, food and craft vendors, lawnmower races, Farmers Olympics, a tractor show and a dunking booth. A car and truck show is on display from 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
Night at the Movies begins at dusk at the amphitheatre.
The airport offers helicopter rides and a barbecue from 4-8 p.m. Saturday, and is home to a fly-in Sunday, with breakfast served 8 a.m.-noon.
Also on Sunday: duck races at 9 a.m. and Praise in the Park at 6:30 p.m.
