Work resumes on Third Ave. and 93 intersection in Ronan
Improvements to the intersection of U.S. Highway 93, Old Hwy. 93 and Third Ave. in Ronan resumed this week after the Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) and Riverside Contracting received materials from the supplier.
According to a press release from MDT, traffic control measures will be in place, and speed limits reduced. Single lane closures on Hwy. 93 may be required in the area; however, Third Ave. and Old Hwy. 93 will remain open at the intersection with flaggers directing traffic.
The intersection was revamped two years ago, but users, especially those driving trucks and school busses, complained that right turns off Hwy. 93 were difficult.
Improvements include widening Third Ave. and Old Hwy. 93. Work is expected to be completed this fall, depending on weather and other unforeseen circumstances.
